Profile
My research and teaching focus on gender inequality and its link to inequalities rooted in race/ethnicity, class, age, and sexuality. I am interested in examining both the sources of and changes in gender inequality, specifically within the United States. I come to the University of Richmond after a decade at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I taught a variety of classes, including Introduction to Sociology, Foundations of Theory, Contemporary Theory, Gender in Society, Sociology of Families, and Senior Seminar. During my time at VCU, I was also highly involved in undergraduate development, advising, curriculum revision and academic program review in my roles as Undergraduate Program Director and Assistant Chair of the Sociology Department.
